The n-word

A typical exchange between Drew and one of her many stuffed animals...

Drew: offers her drink to share
stuffed animal: accepts the offer
Drew: wags her finger and replies, "No, no, no, no!" until animal is fully punished
stuffed animal: looks at her with a sad, broken face
Drew: patches things up with a kiss

Another typical exchange...

stuffed animal: sitting in the corner minding his own business
Drew: walks over and wags the finger, "No, no, no, no, no!"
Drew: looks triumphant

She is tough as nails.

I am Pioneer Woman

I LOVE the Pioneer Woman. If anyone else is an amateur Photoshopper, then you must check out her site. She also has great recipes and other fun stuff and is hilarious. I just read this in 10 minutes and opened up my Elements and a few of my favorite pictures of Drew and followed the exact same steps as she did in her edits. I am amazed every time.

I need to go to bed.

Finished Project and Salsa

I found this metal tree/candleholder thingy as I was looking through Kohl's 80% off Christmas decor. (Which they should be just giving stuff away for free by now because we're quickly moving into February.) It was black and I spray painted it white and antiqued it a little with some brown paint. Then the funnest part was painting, glittering, and jeweling all the little wooden hearts. I screwed in little eyehole screws (probably not what they're called) and attached ribbon and wa la. I was thinking of changing out the "ornaments" and candles for the different holidays, like clovers and easter eggs. But for Valentine's Day, it looks great against my red table. Who has a red table, honestly?

And last night I discovered an amazing and easy Avocado-Orange salsa. All you do is dice up an avocado and an orange and add fresh chopped cilantro (and chopped red onion if you want too). You put it over shredded pork tacos and the flavors are amazing together. Over the summer I was making an Avocado-Watermelon salsa, and I'm telling you that avocado was meant to be partnered with juicy fresh fruit.

Question...

Who has two thumbs and is the biggest goofball I've ever met?

This baby!
She is a nutcase. With a nice belly.

Project Sock

I like things that kinda don't match but kinda do.

And I really love the 3-pack of socks from Little Miss Matched.

And I am going to enter Project Sock and maybe one day you will be wearing mismatched socks designed by me.

Branch Popsicle

Two days ago Drew and I were frolicking at the park wearing short sleeves shirts and enjoying the beautiful 70 degree weather in Arizona.

Yesterday we were b-slapped back into reality when we arrived home to Iowa at -26 degrees. Note the negative sign before the 26. That's -26. And that's in the middle of the day. Oh and add the 20 mile per hour wind and it feels about -40 degrees.

We are supposed to get an ice storm tomorrow. Take a look at this picture from our last big ice storm. This is branch popsicle.

And it ain't tasty.

Ma-wiage (marriage)

Shawnda was an amazing bride and Nathan is going to be the best bro-in-law... as long as they both work on their Cranium teammanship skills.

My dad and I spent hours of blood, sweat, and tears to get this ceiling of lights up for the reception. What was really funny was when we finally finished putting it up, we plug it in ready for the amazing sight... and it didn't work. By funny I meant really not funny. Hi Nicole!
I like this picture that showcases our hard work.

Handsome men.

My little flower girl who was very sick. Remember this dress? She really looked amazing.

Way to go Shawnda and Nathan!

What a week

Maybe I should wear this to my sister's wedding tomorrow. Because this is what I feel like.

Iowa friends, do not look further at this post.

Unless, you want to see us enjoying the beach and imagine us playing frisbee, feeding the seagulls, and laughing with the sun in our hair.

I told you not to look!
